Intro to Developing 3D Art for Video Games

Has your child ever wondered how the art in their favorite computer games like Fortnite and Minecraft is made? Then this camp is for them! Games artists create the 2D and 3D art for the visual effects of a video game, and this camp will instruct your child how to make their own art for video games. They’ll develop their spatial reasoning as they learn how to create 3D furniture and other objects, and then bring them into a video game that they design with their campmates. Whether it’s the artistic design or technical aspect, campers will have opportunities to choose their area of focus as they collaborate with team members. By the end of the week, campers will have created at least two to three video game art scenes showcasing their 3D modeling skills. Don’t forget to bring a USB drive to take home the project. Campers who enjoy this camp may wish to attend Intro to Coding (rising gr. 5-12, Session 8). Depending on their level of accomplishment, they may qualify to join Next Step: Video Game Development & Coding (rising gr. 5-12, Session 9).

With over 18 years of experience, Smart Educational Art provides the wonder of technology and computer game development to Providence Day School campers.
