Intro to Basic Video Game Development

Do you love video games? Ready to create your own? This camp is an introduction into the exciting world of game development! Game development helps kids expand their creativity, encourages organization and logical thinking, and develops persistence. Throughout the week, campers will learn the basic concepts of game design, character design and development, game play, basic coding, and more. They will explore tutorials with their instructor and work individually throughout the week to create their own custom game. Don’t forget to bring a USB flash drive so work can be saved and brought home.

Campers who complete and enjoy this camp may also enjoy, Four Days of Minecraft, (rising gr. 3-9, Session 5); Intro to Developing 3D Art for Video Games, (rising gr. 4-8, Session 7); Intro to Coding, (rising gr. 5-12, Session 8); and depending on their level of accomplishment, they may qualify to join Next Step: Video Game Development & Coding, (rising gr. 5-12, Session 9).
