Charger Wrestling Smackdown

Come learn the world's oldest sport from NCISAA 2020 Assistant Coach of the Year Paul Burnam! Wrestling is a great way for kids to develop their social skills while they learn how to grapple and move their bodies. Campers will learn to wrestle in the neutral (standing) position, and top and bottom. Fun games throughout the morning reinforce instruction. As the great Dan Gable said: "Once you've wrestled, everything in life is easy!" New wrestlers will learn the basics, and experienced campers will learn more advanced high-level moves. Each day will consist of fun and hard work. Campers should wear comfortable clothing; those with braces should bring a mouthpiece.

Coach Paul Burnam joined Providence Day School in 2004 and is the Middle School Wrestling Coach and Program Head. Over the years he has also served as head coach for the middle school football and track & field teams. As a college athlete, Coach Burnam competed at the Division II collegiate level at Morningside College as well as Arizona Western College. He started 33 straight career games on the offensive line. After his final year of playing college football, Coach Burnam was a student assistant for the Morningside College football team.
