AP History Jumpstart

Reduce your anxiety and make your transition to Advanced Placement history a more manageable experience. This camp will address several of the more challenging aspects as we learn strategies for success on document-based essay questions (DBQ), stimulus-based multiple choice questions (SBMC), and short answer questions (SAQs). There are no grades here, just opportunities to practice needed skills, gain confidence, and prepare for tests in AP World, AP US, or AP European History. Scoring of essays is provided to give students a better understanding of how to improve the quality of their responses as measured by the AP standards.

Mr. Roy Garrison, history teacher at Providence Day School, has taught AP European History since 1988 and AP World History since 2001. He has also worked as an exam scorer and table leader for the AP World History Exam Reading since 1997.
