CK's Creative Writing

Help your student keep their writing fresh all summer long so they are ready when the new school year arrives. This half day writing camp will concentrate on creative writing and the use of theatre exercises to enhance writing. Students will be immersed in poetry, fiction and narrative writing. Campers will build confidence in their writing when we take creative approaches. Campers will learn how to express their feelings through writing as well as clarify their ideas. They will also learn how to include details in their writing as well as commonly used writing structures. Each day will contain a period for free-write as well as a period of re-free-write (where a CreativeKids staff member will help them edit and revise their writing). We’ll also play lots of games to get us thinking creatively.

CreativeKids is celebrating 25 years as a trusted camp partner of Providence Day Summer Programs. Owner and creative director Brooke Fulton has directed PDS’ annual Lower School musical since 2016. With a BFA in Theatre from Auburn University and an MFA from The University of Southern Mississippi, Ms. Fulton has been teaching theatre for 15 years and was a finalist for CMS Teacher of the Year in 2013. Her staff of artists, choreographers, and theater professionals bring the arts alive during the summer for campers of all ages.
